Description (Service) Responsible for stimulating local economy and developing economic initiatives and opportunities for the community  
  • Provides information, training and educational workshops to enhance employability skills  
  • Responsible for development of plans for the use of traditional lands for community members  
  • Works to access funding and provides assistance and support for band-owned business ventures  
  • Provides coaching in areas such as business plan development and assistance in obtaining financial support for people wanting to start own business 
  • Provides engineering, consulting and proposal development services
 
Economic initiatives Constance Lake First Nation is involved with include: 
  • Forestry and bio-mass activities 
  • Internet Broadband project 
  • Power Generation projects 
  • Mining and exploration activities 
  • Signatory with other Matawa First Nations and Province of Ontario to a regional framework agreement (signed Mar 26/14) outlining how they will benefit from development of the proposed Ring of Fire, ensuring that both parties will work together in the areas of regional long-term environmental monitoring and enhanced participation in environmental assessment processes, resource revenue sharing, economic supports, regional and community infrastructure 
  • Nedaakiimenaan Inc, a newly formed partnership consisting of Aroland, Constance Lake, Ginoogaming and Long Lake #58 First Nations with a goal of building capacity in the Forest Management of the Kenogami Forest
 
Native Liaison 
  • Facilitates communications between the Ministry of Natural Resources and community members regarding trapping licences and renewals 
  • Acts as the liaison between Hearst Forest Management and community trappers
