Public Comments Northern Treatment Centre is part of the Ontario Addiction Treatment Centres (OATC) network but operates as an independent provider
Description (Agency) Utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach, the Ontario Addiction Treatment Centres is committed to improve the lives of individuals living with the devastating effects of drug addiction, and lessening the adverse impact on families and society as a whole, through the provision of a range of harm reduction and supportive treatment modalities
Agency Services
Description (Service) Offers a substance abuse treatment program for individuals with opiate addiction which includes: 
  • Initial intake screening procedure 
  • Addiction assessment 
  • Urine drug test 
  • Physical and appropriate lab tests 
  • Counselling assessment 
  • Psychiatry assessment 
  • Two doctor's appointments per week during first two weeks 
  • Ongoing counselling and case management
 
Note: Offers both Methadone and Suboxone treatment
Hours Mon-Thu 8:30 am-7 pm * Fri 8:30 am-4 pm Sat-Sun 9 am-1 pm

Eligibility Ages: 16 year(s) and up 
 
  • Individuals with an opiate addiction 
  • Must have a valid health card
Application
  • Pre-screening intake interview by telephone or in person is required 
  • Referral from a family physician, psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, addiction counselor, other allied health professional, or employer 
  • Comprehensive addiction assessment required 
  • Urine drug test required
