Description (Service)
  • Provides information and assistance to support participation in the criminal court process 
  • Services begin once police have laid charges and continue until the court case is over 
  • Provides case-specific information (court dates, bail conditions) 
  • Offers: 
    • Court preparation 
    • Needs assessment 
    • Emotional support 
    • Crisis intervention 
    • Referrals to community agencies
Vulnerable Victims and Family Fund 
  • Provides financial and court-based supports to enable victims of crime and families of homicide victims to attend court, and includes: 
    • Travel arrangements and expenses 
    • Language interpretation 
    • Real-time captioning or other equipment for victims with disabilities

  • Victims and witnesses of crime, especially violent crime such as domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, homicide and hate crime 
  • Also famililes of traffic fatality victims
Vulnerable Victims and Family Fund 
  • Eligibility determined on a case-by-case basis by V/WAP staff
