  • Administration and Board office located in the Chief Munroe Linklater Memorial Education Centre 
  • Elementary students from JK-Grade 6 attend Ministik School, administered by Moose Factory Island District School Area Board
Description (Service) Provides educational services and supports to elementary and secondary school students living on reserve
 
Administers the following programs and services: 
  • Aboriginal Head Start 
  • Delores D Echum Composite School, an on-reserve secondary school for students from Grades 7-12 
  • Small Steps Child Care Services
 
Community-Based Program 
  • Provides satellite and on-reserve post-secondary programs and employment and training opportunities to allow individuals to gain further education from home community 
  • Provides access to distance education through Contact North programs and courses
 
Moose Cree Education Enhancement Fund (MCEEF) 
  • Provides bursaries and scholarships for eligible Moose Cree First Nation band members
 
Post Secondary Student Program 
  • Provides counselling and guidance in choosing post-secondary field of studies 
  • Offers a resource centre with current calendars and information about post-secondary institutions  
  • Provides assistance for applying/filling out application forms for colleges and universities 
  • Provides financial support to post secondary students both on and off the reserve

Eligibility Members of Moose Cree First Nation 
 
Moose Cree Education Enhancement Fund 
  • Must be a registered band member 
  • Must be enrolled full-time as a continuing student in an accredited post-secondary institution
 
Post-secondary and Community-Based Program 
  • All Band members regardless of residency are eligible to apply for assistance if attending a post-secondary institution 
  • Requires approval of Moose Cree Education Authority Selection Review Committee and is based upon availability of funds received from Indian & Northern Affairs
Application Post Secondary Student Support Program 
  • Applications for assistance available on website or at office  
  • Deadline to apply for assistance for fall start date is May 1st; January start date is Nov 1st; spring and summer start dates is Mar 1st
 
For financial assistance applicant required to provide: 
  • Photocopy of recent status card  
  • Completed post-secondary application package issued by Moose Cree First Nation 
  • Letter of acceptance from post-secondary institution  
  • Transcripts from high school and any previous academic institutions  
  • Detailed letter of intent with program information  
  • Copy of voided cheque or bank information  
  • Signed student contract
