Description (Service)
  • Provides counselling to women survivors of sexual assault 
  • Delivers presentations in the community about topics related to sexual abuse and assault
 
Group Therapy 
  • Offers a non-threatening group atmosphere of support and healing  
  • Teaches survivors how to face and overcome the effects of abuse  
  • Offers referrals to psychiatric clinic and/or other services
 
Individual Counselling 
  • Helps survivors deal with and overcome the effects of sexual abuse and assault 
  • Offers assertiveness training  
  • Provides referral to psychiatric clinics  
  • Consults with doctors  
  • Offers co-ordination with other social services and community agencies  
  • Offers assistance with asserting individual rights and accessing other services

Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5 pm, Sep-May  
Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Jun-Aug
Areas Served Cochrane ; Iroquois Falls ; Matheson
Eligibility Ages: 16 year(s) and up 
 
Women who have suffered from sexual abuse as children or sexual assault as adults
Application Referrals are accepted from individuals themselves, physicians, hospitals, friends, family, and police
