Public Comments Text with 9-1-1 service available in Burwash Township, Cox Township, Dokis First Nation, French River, Hendrie Township, Killarney, Markstay-Warren, St. Charles, Secord Township, Servos Township, Wahnapitae and Wahnapitae First Nation, to enable the deaf, deafened, hard of hearing or speech impaired (DHHSI) community to converse with 9-1-1 call centres using text messaging. You must register for T9-1-1 with your wireless service provider, and you must have a compatible cell phone. T9-1-1 should only be used for emergency situations that require a response from police, fire or emergency medical services.

  • Assistance to victims of crime 
  • Crime prevention 
  • Emergency response, including canine tracking and search and rescue 
  • Law enforcement 
  • Public order maintenance (protests and riots) 
  • Provides criminal reference checks
