Description (Service)
  • Provides financial assistance to individuals who are in arrears and at risk of disconnection with Greater Sudbury Utilities (GSU - also known as Greater Sudbury Hydro) 
  • Offers assistance up to $500 towards arrears (paid directly to the utility company)
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
Areas Served Sudbury District ; West Nipissing
Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and up 
 
  • Low-income individuals 
  • Must be an existing customer of Greater Sudbury Utilities 
  • Individuals who are in arrears / have a disconnection notice 
  • Account must be in applicant's name
 
Note: Individuals who are not able to sustain the energy costs following assistance will not be eligible
Application Contact agency to start the application process 

 
The following documentation will be required: 
  • Current utility bill 
  • Disconnection notice (if applicable)  
  • 2 pieces of ID for the applicant and 1 piece for all other household members 
  • Proof of household income for all members of the household 18 years of age and older 
  • Bank statements from at least the most recent month
