  • Focuses on improving the situation of the most vulnerable 
  • Assists individuals to deal with situations that threaten their survival, safety, security, well-being, and/or human dignity 
  • Provides local programs mostly staffed by volunteers
Administers the following programs: 
  • Disaster Management 
  • Babysitting Courses 
  • Emergency Financial Assistance (Homelessness Initiative; includes Winter Warmth, Union Gas, LEAP GSU, LEAP Hydro One and Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative - CHPI) 
  • First Aid and CPR 
  • Home Maintenance (House cleaning, grass cutting and snow removal for seniors) 
  • Housing Registry 
  • PATH (Priority Assistance to Transition Home) 
  • Seniors Transportation Program 
  • RespectED Violence and Abuse Prevention Program
