Description (Agency) Oversees and enforces municipal by laws including all building and demolition projects and proposals for its member communities
Description (Service) Oversees and enforces municipal by laws including all building and demolition projects and proposals for its member communities
 
  • Enforces the Ontario Building Code Act 
  • Manages property zoning and acceptable property use 
  • Provides information for construction or renovation of a building 
  • Processes applications for consents and minor variances 
  • Provides information about planning and building fees 
  • Issues building permits 
  • Provides building inspections 
  • Receives and processes municipal land sales 
  • Oversees municipal development initiatives
 
Planning 
  • Oversees the planning, designs and construction of Municipal Infrastructure, transportation and traffic engineering, investigations, and subdivision development control  
  • Provides information and guidance to the public relative to planning related issues  
  • Responsible for land use planning functions including updating the Official Plan and Zoning By-Law, and processing amendments to these documents  
  • Processes subdivision and condominium applications  
    Prepares and negotiates Site Plan Agreements, Development Agreements and Notification Agreements
