Description (Agency) Works to combat food insecurity in the Algoma District
Description (Service)
  • Receives, processes, stores and distributes donated food to city and district agencies that require food, such as food banks, soup kitchens and residential support agencies 
  • Does not provide food directly to clients 
  • Develops and implements a coordinated strategy for the delivery of donated food to community organizations throughout the district 
  • Accesses all food sources available for distribution, including food donations, garden surplus, and donations from community gardens and farms 
  • Accepts food donations, and offers volunteer opportunities
