Description (Service)
  • Acts as the umbrella organization for all amateur radio operators in the Sault Ste. Marie area 
  • Provides communication for Emergency Management Ontario (EMO) in the event of a natural or human initiated disaster 
  • Performs public service communications for various community events 
  • Makes services available to organizations needing communications when regular methods fail 
  • Provides study classes for persons wishing to obtain their Amateur Radio certificate

Hours First Thu of the month 7 pm, Algoma Senior's Radio Club Room at the Drop In Centre, 615 Bay Street, Sault Ste. Marie
Areas Served Algoma District
Eligibility Must obtain amateur radio certificate of proficiency from Industry Canada; Club will assist to obtain this certificate of proficiency
