Description (Service)
  • Responsible for fire prevention and administration of the Ontario Fire Code 
  • Issues applicable burn permits required for brush piles, incinerators and open fires, excluding campfires
 
Provides the following services: 
  • Emergency planning 
  • Ensuring all exit lights are in working order  
  • Fire investigation  
  • Fire suppression  
  • Hazardous materials information  
  • Home safety which includes ensuring all homes are equipped with smoke alarms and charged fire extinguishers 
  • Response to mishap/accidents in Thessalon First Nation territory
 
Huron Shores Volunteer Fire Department (Station 1) responds to all fire related calls on the Thessalon First Nation on a Mutual Aid Agreement basis
Hours Administration Mon-Fri 8 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4 pm
