Description (Service) Responsible for fire prevention and administration of the Ontario Fire Code 
  • Issues applicable burn permits required for brush piles, incinerators and open fires, excluding campfires 
  • Works closely with the volunteer fire department of Blind River
 
Provides the following services: 
  • Education  
  • Emergency planning  
  • Fire investigation  
  • Fire suppression  
  • Hazardous materials information  
  • Home safety which includes ensuring all homes are equipped (and annually inspected) with smoke alarms and charged fire extinguishers 
  • Response to mishap/accidents in Mississauga First Nation territory
Hours Office: Sep-Jun Mon-Thu 9 am-4:30 pm, Fri 9 am-4 pm 
Jul-Aug Mon-Thu 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Fri 8:30 am-12:30 pm 
Emergencies: Mon-Sun 24 hours
