Description (Service) Responsible for providing prevention programs and activities focused on family wellness 
 
Coordinates the following components of the program: 
 
Family Nutrition 
Provides hands-on cooking classes for participants to prepare healthy low-fat recipes and eat together 
 
Parent Education 
Teaches parents about effective communication skills, abuse awareness prevention, self-care and life skills 
 
Parent and Child Social Activities 
Develops and delivers activities for families including Christmas socials, family wellness days and women's wellness workshops
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4:30 pm Sep-May  
Mon-Fri 8 am-12:00, 12:30-4:15 pm Jun-Aug
Areas Served Garden River First Nation
Eligibility
  • Members of Garden River First Nation living on the reserve 
  • Programs and services may be extended to others based on resources available and/or program/service guidelines
