Description (Service) Provides education and services aimed at enabling children to grow up in their own families and communities
 
  • Provides intensive in-home support to families where there is maltreatment of children 
  • Offers counselling services on more appropriate ways to raise children
 
Topics covered in support programs include: 
  • Anger management 
  • Healthy family relationships 
  • Healthy sexuality and sexual abuse prevention 
  • Impact of domestic violence on the home and community  
  • Parenting and life skills 
  • Self-esteem for children 
  • Youth and family violence

Eligibility
  • Must be a member of one of the 7 First Nations member communities 
  • Immediate and/or extended family members experiencing struggles with child-rearing

  • Services are administered on a local level through individual communities
