Description (Service)
  • Helps individuals to navigate the court system  
  • Explains legal rights and court procedures  
  • Facilitates and enhances access to the Canadian Legal System and informs participants of the philosophy of the courts 
  • Advocates on behalf of participants to law professionals such as Judges, Crown Attorneys, Legal Aid, Probation Officers and Custodial Program Workers 
  • Ensures Indigenous people involved in the criminal justice system are given due process, understand their rights, responsibilities and options 
  • Liaises between the court personnel and the participant to address cultural misunderstandings
