Description (Service)
  • Provides training to Aboriginal individuals to increase employability skills 
  • Provides 10 weeks of classroom training including but not limited to time management, goal setting, communication skills, employment skills and expectations, conflict resolution, customer service, telephone skills, computer skills, worker's rights and responsibilities, work ethics, resumé and cover letter writing 
  • Training is followed by an eight-week optional paid work placement

Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-3 pm
Areas Served North Bay ; Sault Ste. Marie
Boundaries South to Michigan border, East to the western boundary of Garden River Indian Reserve, Northwest to Batchewana Bay and along Lake Superior shoreline back to Sault Ste Marie
Eligibility Self-identified Métis, First Nations and Inuit people who want to increase employability skills
Application Call to apply; training is time-sensitive and limited to three sessions per year
