Description (Service) Assists Ontario Works participants by providing a resource area at no cost for job searching which includes:  
  • Computers with word processing capabilities and internet access 
  • Fax machines 
  • Photocopiers 
  • Telephone access
Also provides current information for school and job related inquiries, including up-to-date bulletin boards and pamphlets regarding community events, organizations, services and jobs 

Offers services to aid individuals in preparing for and keeping a job, including: 
  • workshops on resume writing and interviewing 
  • job counselling 
  • job-specific training 
  • access to basic education for completion of high school or to improve their language skills 
  • funds to cover approved employment related expenses and child care costs 
  • extended Employment Health Benefits available to those who leave Ontario Works because of employment and whose employer does not offer health benefits 

    Emergency assistance is also available to people who are in a crisis or an emergency situation (e.g. people who have lost their homes, are leaving an abusive relationship and/or are worried about their safety)
