Description
  • Assists residents to obtain and maintain safe and affordable housing
  • Delivers 8 separate housing programs offering 700 subsidized units

    Programs offered include:

    Housing Registrar
  • Governed by the provincal requirements for Rent Geared to Income subsidized housing
  • Ensures applicant's basic eligibility and maintains subsidiary waiting lists
  • Checks applicants against a Provincal Arrears Database which detects arrears from any housing authority

    Public Housing
  • Manages landlord and property management functions
  • Deals with tenant concerns, social issues, complaints, ongoing rent collection, arrears management and building maintenance

    Rent Supplement
  • Administers agreements with both private landlords and individual clients
  • Provides subsidies to households
  • Acts as an agent to secure specific units for rent geared to income tenants
  • Provides limited funding to clients who have secured their own units

    Non-Profit Housing
  • Provides rent geared to income housing
  • Provides 208 rental units through market rent and rent geared to income subsidies

    Urban Native Non-Profit Housing Corporations
  • Provides Native rent geared to income housing

    Affordable Housing Program
  • A federal, provincial and municipal funded program

    The 3 different components include:

    Rental and Supportive Component
  • Provides 2 new seniors buildings (Echo Bay and Dubreuilville)

    Housing Allowance Program
  • Offers short term funding to assist clients bridge the rent cap for renters in greatest need

    Ontario Renovates Program
